My Summer Vacation Was a Clay Fever Dream and I Still Don’t Have Enough Mugs
Ah, summer. That magical season when people take beach trips, sip iced drinks on patios, and “disconnect to reconnect.”
I, however, chose a different path.
I spent my summer elbows-deep in clay, sprinting from wheel to kiln like a caffeinated goblin, absolutely convinced I was definitely getting ahead on my holiday stock. I had a plan. A spreadsheet. A playlist. A deeply misguided sense of time.
And yet here we are in August, and I have three things to report:
I’ve made approximately 500 pieces of pottery.
My studio now looks like an archaeological dig site.
I STILL don’t have enough mugs.
Where did they go, you ask? Great question. Some sold (yay!). Some cracked (we don't talk about those). A suspicious number were “just for testing glazes” and somehow ended up in my own kitchen cabinet, because self-care.
And now the holidays are creeping in like a cat you didn’t hear coming, and I’m staring down another round of making, glazing, firing, and questioning all my life choices. Again.
So, here’s the plan:
🎯 More mugs are on the way (for real this time)
🛍️ Shop update coming this fall — date TBA
🎄 And if you're hoping for gifts, sign up for my email list because things tend to disappear faster than you can say “limited batch”
Summer may have passed in a blur of slip and glaze, but at least I have a strong throwing arm and mild kiln-induced insomnia to show for it.
Stay tuned, stay caffeinated, and please send snacks.
(Also bubble wrap. I’m gonna need a lot of it.)
